The 2010 Mazda2 has improved significantly as a rival to small cars and has dropped the three-door model, making it exclusively a four-door hatchback and sedan. Addition of the sedan model in the 2010 upgrades is a master stroke, offering that distinctive Mazda2 style in sedan guise and providing excellent cargo capacity. The engine remains the 1.5-liter, four-cylinder DOHC unit. Drive is either from a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
Wisely, Mazda did not tamper with key elements of the Mazda2's interior as part of the 2010 upgrades. There are two new seat trim materials, but the fundaments, such as the dash which provides extra front seat spaciousness, have not changed. Interior spaciousness is among the best in the compact segment, with the Mazda2 providing plenty of headroom. The exterior, however, has been upgraded for 2010. Most noticeable is the front end with new lights and silver trims. All these upgrades make the Mazda2 worthy of a look.
