They say that to be a true petrolhead, you must own at least one Alfa Romeo. This was a poke at the dubious reliability of these Italian sports cars back in the day, but we still think the statement is valid, but for all the right reasons. The 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 4-door compact sports coupe is one of the best sports cars to come from the famed Italian brand in ages and one that deserves to do well in the US. From the outside, this Italian muscle looks the part, and while its cabin might not be as refined as its German rivals, the Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan delivers an incredible driving experience, partly thanks to that 2.9-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder gas engine producing 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. The 2021 Giulia Quadrifoglio goes up against the mighty BMW M3.
How do you improve on a near-perfect sports sedan? Alfa hasn't tried to answer that question, so the new Giulia Quadrifoglio continues into 2021 with no significant changes. However, buyers can now choose from four additional tri-coat exterior colors: Ocra GT Junior, Rosso GTA, Rosso Villa d'Este, and Verde Montreal.

Alfa Romeo has traditionally built some excellent V6 engines, and the twin-turbo found under the shapely hood of the Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan is no different. Producing 505 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, this snarling power plant results in scintillating performance: the 0-60 mph sprint takes only 3.8 seconds, and a top speed of 191 mph is reached without much effort. Naturally, it guzzles fuel to quell its insatiable appetite, and yours. Power is sent exclusively to the rear-wheel drive via an 8-speed automatic transmission, and we love how easy it is to kick the rear out in this car.
NHTSA safety ratings are not available at this time.
A good Alfa Romeo is such a rare thing that even when it's not as good as its competitors, people tend to hype them up. This is not the case with the 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. This car is genuinely good and deserves all the praise it gets. From the outside, this thing is a feast for the eyes and looks the way only an Italian car can: spicy. On the inside, too, you get some serious Italian flare and a moderate consignment of features. Still, unfortunately, the build quality isn't on par with its German counterparts, and the passenger and total cargo space isn't class-leading. Not to perpetuate stereotypes, but there are some question marks regarding its reliability as well. There is no review of the 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifolgio from safety organizations, but the 2019 Giulia received a top-notch safety rating from the IIHS. With all that said and done, the Giulia Quadrifoglio is beautifully balanced, fast, and Italian. What more could you want?
There's only one trim for the model, so you'll have to add on some options to make this a truly unique experience. We'd obviously go for one in Rosso Competizione with 19-inch dark five-hole wheels, red brake calipers, and an exposed carbon-fiber roof. On the inside, we'd simply add the $2,200 Active Assist 2 package, which includes driver attention alert, lane-keep assist, traffic jam assist, and adaptive cruise control. The total price of a 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio with this build comes to $83,245, including a destination fee of $1,595.
