Aston Martin Will Be Hitting Goodwood Hard This Week

Aston Martin will be hitting the Goodwood Festival of Speed hard this year.

While more impressive Astons will be in attendance, the V12 Vantage is arguably the one everyone will want to see. Earlier this year, Aston announced that it would be shoehorning its twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 under the hood of its smallest car.

Sadly, the British manufacturer also stated that it would be the last of its kind and that only 333 would be built. All of these 690-horsepower machines are already sold, which means the Goodwood Hillclimb will likely be the only chance the public will be able to see the car in action.

The 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed starts this Thursday and ends on Sunday.

The DBX707 will also make its dynamic debut at the festival. This particular DBX will also show what Q by Aston Martin is capable of. It will be finished in the same Aston Martin Racing Green as the manufacturer's F1 team, and a set of lime green brake calipers.

The Valkyrie will also be returning to the festival for the second year in a row. This year it will be piloted by WEC racer Peter Dumbreck; an ex-Aston Martin Racing factory driver with no less than 15 Nurburgring 24 Hours races under his belt. As you can see in the video above, the Valkyrie's climb up the hill was fairly sedate last year.

Let's hope Dumbreck buries the throttle in the carpet so we can hear the Aston's 6.5-liter V12 shriek like the mythical creature it's named after.

The Vantage F1 Edition will also be in attendance, as will a V12 Speedster in the classic DBR1 livery. The Aston Martin and Brough Superior AMB001 motorcycle will also be making its Goodwood dynamic debut up the hill this year.

On the classic side, the Green Pea will return. This year marks 100 years since Aston Martin entered its first F1 race in the 1922 French Grand Prix. The Green Pea makes a return to Goodwood after a two-year restoration process.
