Audi A6 Is Already Getting A Facelift

Spy Shots / Comments

The visual changes will be very subtle.

The big news surrounding Audi of late is that the German luxury automaker has decided to enter the world of Formula 1. That's great, but what matters more to the everyday individual is what its road cars are like, and there are loads of new ones on the way. Among them is the all-electric A6 e-tron, but before that arrives, we're waiting to see what a facelift has done for the regular Audi A6. We first got spy shots of the updated model last year, and now we've finally been given another look at the car. This time, the details are far clearer.

Audi is making sure that you can spot which of its cars are all-electric, so there's no futuristic design update here. The headlights appear to be staying the same as on the current model, just with new graphics. The same treatment will be applied to the taillights, and each end of the car will get a lightly reworked bumper with new intakes and a subtly tweaked grille defining the biggest changes to the front fascia. The rumor mill tells us that OLED lighting may be optionally available, but there's nothing concrete to confirm this just yet.

What about the cabin?

Unfortunately, our photographers could not get close enough to grab some clear images of the interior of the new Audi A6, but they suspect that the uncovered rear windows and the lack of any fabric coverings over the dash point to a mild update inside if at all. This means we'll probably see some revisions to the infotainment system and the tech offering, but nothing physical is expected to get a dramatic redesign. Similarly, the engine options are predicted to remain the same for the 2023 model as those already on offer, which means a choice of 2.0- and 3.0-liter turbocharged motors. A full reveal is expected towards the end of this year.
