The Bollinger B1 is a fully electric SUV on a mission. Dubbed as a sport utility truck by Bollinger, the blocky B1 appears to be unbreakable, doing without the unnecessary electronics and opulent but easily damaged materials found in many other SUVs at this price point. A major advantage to the utilitarian design is that the doors, roof panels, and even the windshield can all be removed for the ultimate open-air experience.

A dual-motor electric powertrain produces 614 horsepower and 668 lb-ft of torque, enabling this all-wheel-drive brute to see off the 0-60 mph sprint in just 4.5 seconds. A top speed of 100 mph is possible. The maximum towing capacity falls short of some gas-powered SUVs but remains useful at 7,500 pounds. For off-road adventures, the B1 affords 15 inches of ground clearance and approach/breakover/departure angles of 52/30/43 degrees respectively. Front/rear locking differentials and a two-speed high/low-range gearbox are standard. The large 142 kWh battery pack is only enough for an estimated range of 200 miles, no doubt due to the B1’s 5,000-pound curb weight. With Level 3 DC fast charging, it’ll take 75 minutes to recharge the battery. Inside, there’s seating for four occupants and a massive 113 cubic feet of cargo space. There aren’t many luxuries, but you do get air conditioning and Bluetooth.

At $125,000 and with few standard features, the Bollinger B1 will appeal to a very specific clientele, but there’s certainly nothing else quite like it. It is expected to launch sometime in mid-2021.
