Buy Used Buick Models

If you’re after an American family hauler with a luxurious flair, then a crossover or SUV from Buick might be right up your alley. There are plenty of premium vehicles on sale in the USA, but Buick SUV models are specifically designed for the US market and its desire for practical but comfortable high-riders at an affordable price.

New Buick SUV and Crossover Models

With various sizes on offer, from small to mid-size, there is a Buick SUV for all types of buyers. There are no diesel powertrains, though, and towing capacity is average to subpar across the range. The 2020 and 2021 Buick SUV models list include:

  • Encore: Sharing a platform with the Chevrolet Trax, the small Buick SUV is powered by an efficient four-cylinder engine that returns gas mileage figures of 25/30/27 mpg. It’s not the most lavish model on the Buick SUV list, but it offers a decent level of luxury for the price. Standard features include power front seats, smartphone integration, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
  • Encore GX: If the diminutive dimensions of the Encore are too much for you, the even smaller subcompact GX variant slots in right below, shaving a little off of an already reasonable price tag. While still a little underpowered with its pair of three-cylinder engines, it doesn’t want for techno gadgets. Forward collision alert, pedestrian detection, and a well-rounded infotainment system all coming standard.
  • Envision: New for 2021, the second-gen Envision receives a lot of much-needed updates, not the least of which is an aesthetic overhaul. This sporty transformation doesn’t extend to the powertrain, but the interior is spacious and comfortable. Materials are high-quality but not nearly as much so as German rivals, and cargo space could be better for an SUV. The Avenir variants are the top-spec models in the range.
  • Enclave: The largest of Buick SUV lineup, the Enclave comes standard with a 3rd row of seating, giving it a 7-passenger capacity. However, you swap out the second-row captain’s chairs for another bench, this increases to an 8-passenger limit. Thanks to its thirsty V6 engine and heavy overall weight, it has the worst gas mileage of its siblings.

Buick SUV price list

The price of a Buick SUV is far less than that of a German luxury high-rider, but you can still expect to pay quite a bit more than you would for a Honda or Toyota. Nevertheless, you get good value for money. The Buick SUV lineup includes:

Model Power Engine Base Price
Buick Enclave 310 hp 3.6L V6 Gas $42,800
Buick Encore 155 hp 1.4L Turbo Inline-4 Gas $24,600
Buick Envision 228 hp 2.0L Turbo Inline-4 Gas $31,800
Buick Encore GX 137 hp 1.2L Turbo Gas $24,400

FAQs

What is the top-of-the-line Buick SUV?

The top trim of the largest Buick is the Enclave Avenir. This Buick SUV will cost you around $54k to get behind the wheel of this mid-size high-rider, but for the money, you get comfortable captain’s chairs in the second row and a two-seat bench in the 3rd-row.

Can a Buick SUV go off-road?

None of the models currently on offer come outfitted with 4WD; however, aside from a base model here and there, each is available with AWD. This is meant more to help with slippery road conditions like mud or snow, rather than inviting you to take the luxury SUVs off-road.

Are there any hybrid or electric Buicks?

Currently, there are no green powertains on offer. However, with many luxury brands looking towards more sustainable propulsion technology, Buick will likely be releasing a few electric builds over the next several years.
