Crossovers and electric propulsion are the new world order as far as automakers are concerned, so it should come as no surprise that one of the six new EQ models from Mercedes-Benz in the coming years will be the EQE SUV. It will form the mid-range of the EQ SUV series, slotting in beneath the EQS SUV and above the existing EQC, and will be the electric counterpart to the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class. Underpinned by a new scalable electric architecture that will also underpin the EQS, we expect dual-motor all-wheel-drive systems, in excess of 400 horsepower, and a range of 400 miles on the WLTP cycles. Mercedes will confirm technical details in due course, and while a firm timeline has not been set, we expect an unveiling to occur early in 2022.
