The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox was originally scheduled to arrive for the 2021 model year but was delayed due to the pandemic. The updated Equinox now sports the latest and far sportier styling language inspired by the small Blazer crossover. There are new front and rear fascias, along with split-level LED headlights with LED daytime running lights.
There's also a new grille design that will differ in color (such as black or chrome inserts) according to trim level. Higher trims also receive new 19-inch machine-faced wheels. The interior also receives trim-specific updates, such as the Premier receiving French stitching on the upholstery and a new high-gloss black finish on the console.
Under the hood, however, the same engines carry over. These include the 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox, while the available 2.0-liter turbo-four spits out 252 hp and 260 lb-ft and is linked to a nine-speed automatic. Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel drive will continue to be available.
