   • Cargo - One of America’s best selling full-size commercial vehicles today comes bearing a burly 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 with an even more powerful 3.5L twin-turbo V6 optional, joined later in 2020 by a 2.0L bi-turbo diesel. With an array of configurations provided, vehicle dimensions and capabilities vary vastly between trims. Maximum payloads span from 3,060-4,550 pounds, towing capacities between 4,900-6,800 lbs, and cargo bay room between 246.7 and 487.3 cubic feet.
   • Passenger - The people-moving version comes with the same selection of engines as the stuff-hauling variant, however, it can be configured as a 15 seater passenger van with eight, ten, and 12-passenger layouts optional, too. At the back, there’s 39.1 to 100.5 cubes of space depending on the layout. It takes up to 3,420 lbs of onboard goods and up to 4,400 lbs in heave.
   • Crew - A relatively new addition to the automaker’s catalog, the flexible carrier gets the same powertrain selection as its counterparts but straddles them in terms of seating. As standard, it accommodates a total of five crewmen and offers an utmost pulling potential of 4,400 to 6,300 lbs.
2. Transit Connect
   • Cargo - With 104.8 cubes in the hold of the short-wheelbase and 127.4 in the extended-wheelbase’, there’s a lot this carrier can schlep, up to 1,570 pounds in LWB form. It’s propelled by a 2.0-liter inline-four motor with which it pulls up to 2,000 lbs. A 2.5L four-cylinder is exclusively available for fleet buyers, too. With its euro styling, it’s also one of the better-looking service motors, on the streets, in photos, and in videos and company commercials.
   • Passenger Wagon - A subcompact take on the traditional minivan, this somewhat family-centered coach supplies places for up to seven occupants. Under the hood are the same mills as in the stuff-hauling version, which here, avails the coach with a 1,350-pound carrying limit and 2,000 lbs draw capability. Behind the rear seats is 16.3 cu.-ft. of storage space.

Advantages and Disadvantages

There’s an obvious array of upsides to owning a full-size utility auto but with most of these workhorses being rudimentary builds, there will be some downsides too.

• Decent maximum payload and towing capacities proffer high practicality
• Their rudimentary standard features keep their costs low and prices relatively affordable

Cons

• Interiors are not as luxurious or featureful as those of premium-level competitors
• Large autos are difficult to drive and maneuver because of their weight and size
• Unclear safety and reliability ratings are typical for the class due to low sales
