Like the CT200h, the HS is related to the Toyota Prius, although here it is a much more direct relation. Lexus would tell you otherwise, but anybody who has driven the HS has had a difficult time seeing it as anything but a rebadged Prius. Many people have said the same about the CT200h, but Lexus put far more effort into that car, and it’s no mystery why it strongly outsells the more expensive, but less enjoyable HS. That said, it does solve one of the big complaints about the Prius, its cheap interior. That doesn’t seem to be enough though, and there is talk that the car will be axed.
