Just show us the whole thing already.
Hyundai has taken the EV market by storm with its range of Ioniq vehicles and shows no sign of slowing down. After the successful launch of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Korean manufacturer has been teasing the sleek Ioniq 6. The new EV was recently teased officially, but it only gave us a quick glimpse at the new car's svelte silhouette, but there's some good news: the official reveal could happen very soon, and to keep fans satisfied in the meantime, Hyundai has revealed a design concept sketch that makes us want one more than ever before.
We already know a few things about the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 6: we know that it will ride on Hyundai's new E-GMP architecture, and we know that it's based off of the drool-worthy Prophecy concept. The new sketches released by Hyundai show an even slimmer design than both the Ioniq 6 and Prophecy concept. Hyundai claims that the sketch "reflects Hyundai commitment to satisfy both aesthetic and functional needs of customers in the electric mobility era." We think Hyundai designers simply wanted to create the sleekest design they could get away with. Seriously though, just look at the top sketch; it looks like something out of a Jetsons cartoon.
The bottom sketch more closely resembles the design we see today, and shows off the rapidly sloping rear end that we've grown to love. Hyundai claims that its upcoming EV will benefit from the latest fast-charging technology, and will have a range of up to 435 miles. We expect the Ioniq 6 to start off at around $40,000, making it a serious threat to the Tesla Model 3. As we inch closer to the Ioniq 6's official reveal, the manufacturer says that it will reveal more teaser images in the coming days, and will fully reveal the exterior and interior designs later this month.
