Lamborghini Huracan STO Gets Subtle New Upgrades

Tuning / 6 Comments

Extra carbon fiber can't hurt.

The Lamborghini Huracan STO is one of the few supercars out there that is essentially flawless. Sure, every car has its drawbacks, but the STO has been engineered to excite without causing heart failure and is fast without being unsafe. It's practically perfect, but there will always be those who see room for improvement. Novitec falls into the unsatisfied category and, as it has done so many times before, has now put its own unique spin on a glorious supercar. As usual, the upgrades are chiefly focused on aesthetics, but there's some performance enhancement to look forward to as well.

The STO is already made up of 75% carbon fiber, but Novitec took things a little further by adding custom rocker panels to the mix. By adding these, the supercar gets a more aggressive stance. Larger-than-stock air intakes ahead of the rear wheels have also been added, optimizing cooling to the rear brakes. This is repeated with the enlarged air intakes for the rear side windows, which channel more air to the engine. Naked carbon fiber covers are available for the wing mirrors too.

As you'd expect, the Novitec team has added a new set of wheels to the car too, namely its proprietary NL4 forged centerlock wheels made in collaboration with American brand Vossen. 72 color options are available for these wheels, with a choice of either a brushed or a polished finish. 20-inch rims reside up front with 21s at the rear.

To complement the wheels, a set of four-way KW coilovers with Magneto shocks are available for STO models equipped from the factory with a front lift system. These offer 14 settings for compression and rebound and can be set to a custom ride height. Alternatively, Novitec sport springs can be fitted, lowering the car by up to 30 millimeters (1.18 inches).

As for performance, Novitec offers a choice of either stainless steel or Inconel for the construction of its actively controlled exhaust systems with butterfly valves. These feature 111-mm-diameter tips and either matte or gloss carbon embellishers. If that's not flashy enough, both the exhaust and the tips can be ordered with gold plating.

Pricing for the various options has not been released as yet, but you already know this package is not cheap.
