Kia's compact sedan provides a well-priced entry point into the range and serves young families who may one day progress to a more upscale K5 or Stinger. Most Fortes come equipped with a 147-hp 2.0-liter engine and a CVT gearbox, but a manual transmission, a dual-clutch automatic, and a more powerful 201-hp turbocharged engine are also offered.
The cheapest FE trim ships with a four-speaker sound system, air conditioning, a rearview camera, cloth-upholstered seats, and safety gear like forward collision warning and lane departure warning. Further up in the range, features on offer include dual-zone automatic climate control, blind-spot monitoring, leatherette upholstery, a ten-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and a Harman Kardon audio system. The sporty GT-Line and GT come with bolder styling elements, but only the latter gets the turbocharged engine. GT Manual models switch out the DCT of the GT for a six-speed manual transmission.
