As part of its slew of new EV concepts revealed recently, Toyota also introduced a concept for an electric pickup truck. No official details have been provided, but the pictures show a four-door crew-cab configuration that's likely to sit alongside the existing Tacoma in size. The EV truck has a short bed, shows impressive ground clearance, and all-terrain tires, making 4WD a given. It'll likely have at least 215 horsepower on tap, inherited from the AWD bZ4X's dual-motor setup. A more affordable 2WD configuration is probable for base models.
Toyota confirmed intentions to build an EV truck in 2021, and while it's unlikely we'll have an official launch of an electric pickup in the next year, we're hopeful more information will be released during 2022 before a full 2023 reveal.
