TEASED: $30,000 Fisker Pear's Interior Looks Stellar

Henrik Fisker, the CEO and founder of Fisker, is known for sharing news about upcoming products on his Instagram profile. He's like the Elon Musk of the 'Gram.

This week Fisker shared an interior shot of the upcoming Fisker Pear. Or, as Fisker likes to brand it, PEAR - an acronym for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution, which is quite a statement. To us, the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air count as revolutionary products though the Pear could quickly get itself on the list if Fisker reaches all its goals.

If Fisker hits the target price of $29,000 (before any government rebates), the Pear will be the cheapest EV on sale in the USA if you don't count the heavily discounted Chevrolet Bolt EV.

As for the interior shot, it's clear the Pear is far from completion. The large wraparound display that appears to provide ambient lighting isn't economically viable in a sub $30,000 car.

There are a few design hints, however. The Pear seems to have the same center touchscreen as the Fisker Ocean, and that's quite cool. It's the only touchscreen that can switch between portrait and landscape modes, though that's not enough reason to buy a car.

"Fisker Pear's interior will offer a new level of storage for its segment. Design-wise, the beltline and side window area are extremely low, with a large, wraparound windscreen affording a commanding view when driving," said Fisker in his Instagram post.

At the top, we can see the SolarSky panoramic roof with integrated solar panels. The idea is that it charges the battery while the car is stationary. It likely won't provide more than a mile at a time, but at least the owner can claim that that single mile was as near as possible to emissions-free.

Fisker also revealed the existence of the Houdini Trunk, which he claims is an alternative to traditional rear cargo hatches. We're not sure what he means, but the name suggests a hidden trunk of some sort.

The Pear is scheduled to arrive in 2024 and will be available in single and dual-motor setups. This model's target range is 310 miles, which is more than ample for a vehicle built specifically for city tasks.
