The Dazzling Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV Is Coming VERY Soon

Following the success of its Ioniq 5 electric vehicle, Hyundai will launch a stylish electric sedan called the Ioniq 6. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 was recently teased officially, though the teaser video only provided a vague look at the car's silhouette. As evidenced by countless test mules, the anticipated Ioniq 6 is almost ready to break cover, and according to The Korean Car Blog, the reveal could happen very soon.

The outlet believes Hyundai will show the Ioniq 6 at the 2022 Busan Motor Show on July 14th, just under a month from now. Revealing a global market car to a South Korean audience first is completely within the realm of possibility for the Hyundai Motor Group, as evidenced by past vehicle announcements from the Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis brands that were done without any US-specific details.

We know the Ioniq 6's styling will be heavily based on the stunning Prophecy Concept, though many details are likely to change on the production model. Since it shares the E-GMP architecture with the Ioniq 5, this model should borrow the same 77.45-kWh battery pack enabling at least 300 miles of range in rear-wheel-drive form.

A dual-motor all-wheel-drive version should offer a little over 300 horsepower, just like the Ioniq 5. Rumors suggest Hyundai will only introduce the dual-motor at launch, eventually adding the single rear-drive option later on. With Hyundai set to launch a 585-hp Ioniq 5 N, we'd be shocked if the Ioniq 6 wasn't given a similar N treatment.

Ioniq 6 production will reportedly begin in July at Hyundai's Asan Plant, meaning the car could go on sale by the end of this year or early next year. After the Ioniq 6 goes on sale, Hyundai will complete its EV trifecta with a three-row SUV called the Ioniq 7 based on the Seven Concept shown last year. With these three models, Hyundai will boast one the best EV lineups in the industry.
