This Carbon-Covered Porsche Taycan Is Ludicrous

When Porsche said that it would be making an electric sports sedan, many of its biggest fans questioned whether it would be possible to engineer great handling from a heavy electric car sending power to all four wheels. The Porsche Taycan proved that it was possible, and with the handling sorted and the powertrain nearly impossible to upgrade, various tuners started looking at ways to enhance the EV from an aesthetic point of view. Personally, we think the Taycan looks gorgeous in stock form, but many feel it needs something extra, and in the case of German tuner Jager, that "something extra" is a lot of carbon fiber.

This isn't the first such conversion, as many have chosen to upgrade the Taycan in many forms. Brabus was among the most recent, and other tuners have swathed the Taycan in as much carbon fiber as possible, but many of these kits are made up of add-ons. The kit from Jager, however, is something different. The front bumper has been totally replaced with a full carbon item, and the same treatment has been applied to the front fenders and even the front trunk, or frunk. More carbon can be found where the plastic mirror caps once were, while a splash of gold helps break up the monotonous look.

Down the profile, new side skirts once again are made from the sixth element, and even the door handles and other flaps including those for charging are now made of carbon. At the rear, the bumper is made to match that of the front with yet more of the lightweight material being applied to the body. Finally, a set of forged wheels in 21-inch sizing help complete the look along with more gold accents, including on the brake calipers. In total, Jager says that this kit saves an impressive 45 kilograms, or just over 99 pounds, of weight. There's no word on cost, but you can bet this carbon-clad EV will make your wallet a lot lighter.
