This 3,000-HP Nissan Skyline GT-R Is The World's Quickest And Fastest

Video / 4 Comments

You won't believe how quick this RB-powered Godzilla really is.

We have looped this Croydon Racing Developments R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R video over 20 times and still can't believe our eyes. This car just massacred six World records. It doesn't take long to watch the video since this street-able GT-R takes only 6.37 seconds to embarrass any R35 Nissan GT-R. The run on video is the most recent in a string of successful passes for the Croydon, Australia-based tuner and the 30-plus year old R32 GT-R codenamed JUN II just keeps getting more powerful, quicker, faster, and more outrageous in street trim.

"They said it couldn't be done," Croydon Racing stated. "Croydon's RB weapon has climbed the mountain to sit on the top against all odds." And well, they're not wrong as several records have been broken and this is now the quickest and fastest GT-R in the World of any generation: R32, R33, R34, R35 and even the hybrid R36 if it ever arrives.

The Croydon Racing Developments (CRD) team has been at this game a long time and tuning older Skyline GT-Rs in street trim is their forte. They know how to assemble a winning car for the street, strip or racing circuit offering a variety of products and services to make these Nissans fly. While their focus seems to be on drag GT-Rs, they do work on all makes and models for race car prep and fabrication. But their main mission is on building and refining this AWD drag R32 GT-R.

JUN II is not your average R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R. It was just a few years ago, the RB-powered car was only 2,500 horsepower, now it's a shocking 3,000 hp! That's 3,000 ponies in a car that is plated and registered, meaning it can technically be driven on the street.

Although it has 3.0-liter turbo RB30 motor (versus the RB26), this is still a full R32 chassis GT-R. JUN II is a 'door-slammer' with working doors, glass, and bits needed to drive like a normal car on public roads in Australia.

Only, this particular 6.37 @ 224 mph run isn't on the street. The 3,000 hp AWD launch is so violent, the front tires lift for quite a distance, then it tears down the quarter mile like the finish line owes it money. A couple seconds and over 150 mph, the menacing JUN II starts pulling hard to the left out of the drag strip groove. It's hard to get an AWD drag car to track straight and look at how much rubber the car built up on their home dragstrip near the wall of the left lane!

The driver keeps it together by keeping a never-lift mindset and the GT-R is past the traps, off-throttle with twin chutes deployed before you can blink. At 224 mph, think about if your favorite supercar can hit near that top speed, or even max out nearly as quick like this Ferrari F8 Tributo taking 20 seconds to reach just 211 mph?

With only 3.0-liters of displacement from a motor and chassis designed in the 1980s, a modest team and budget, CRD has truly made dreams a reality here. JUN II broke six World records today: quickest and fastest GT-R, quickest stock chassis, quickest AWD, quickest independent rear suspension, quickest import with radial tires, and quickest Nissan AWD. Sure a few of these records are a bit extraneous but Croydon wants everyone to know JUN II owns them all, period.
