I put 30k miles on this vehicle in my first year of ownership and it has been extremely reliable up until this point, with only minor maintenance needed such as oil changes and alignment adjustments. The interior is well laid out and comfortable for long drives, although the seat is not very supportive if you're looking to do some aggressive off-roading. The truck is well equipped with the TRD off-road package, which includes Bilstein shocks, a skid plate, and other small items. I also purchased the TRD exhaust system which makes the sound amazing.
This is the second Toyota Tacoma I've owned. My first was an '05 4x4 Double Cab with a 4.0L V6 and 5-speed manual transmission. The truck had about 150,000 miles on it when I sold it after 3 years and loved every minute of owning it. The new one is an '11 TRD Sport V6 4x4 TRD Off-Road Package with a 6-speed manual transmission. I think this one has even more power than the previous model, which was rated at 230 hp. It also rides very smooth and feels very solid while going down the road. The interior is really nice and comfortable, especially when compared to other trucks in its class like the Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon, which cost around $10K more than the Tacoma without even offering leather seats or heated seats as standard equipment. It does lack some of the bells and whistles found on newer models like auto climate control and heated side mirrors, but for $23K you're getting a lot of bang for your buck!
I have owned several different trucks in my life and I have always stayed away from Toyota. They just didn't seem to be tough enough for me. I have owned a few Dodge Rams and Ford F-250's, but I wanted something that was more economical without sacrificing power or ride quality. The Toyota Tacoma has exceeded all of my expectations! The truck handles like a sports car and rides like a Cadillac. It's easy to park, even in tight spaces, yet it can tow anything I've put behind it (up to 7500 lbs). The interior is very comfortable and well laid out. The exterior styling is sleek and modern-looking. I am completely satisfied with this purchase.
The Tacoma is a great little truck. I got it for my wife as a replacement for her old car and she loves it. It has plenty of power, good fuel economy (we get about 20 mpg in town and 23 mpg on the highway), and handles well. It's comfortable for long drives and has plenty of room for people and cargo. The only real complaint I have is that the truck does not have a rear camera but does have a backup sensor system, which is nice, but not as good as having an actual video feed from the rear camera. The backup sensors also don't work well when backing up into a large object like a dumpster or something similar because they're too close together to detect if something is there or not. Overall though we are very happy with this truck so far.
