Lamborghini Builds Hardcore Urus To Rescue The Super Rich

The Lamborghini Urus is considered by many to be the first true super SUV, and with good reason: this exotic Italian SUV is stupid fast, and handles like a much lighter car. Most see the Urus as a highway destroyer, and a curbside fashion accessory, but we've seen some hardcore off-road versions come to light in recent years, proving that the Urus can be more than just an overpowered grocery-getter. One of our favorite Lambo-spotters, Varryx, recently posted this video showing a Urus dressed in hardcore off-road gear leaving Lamborghini HQ. The vehicle was seen sporting a 'rescue car' decal down the side, making us wonder what Lamborghini is up to.

We've seen countless videos of Lamborghini testing the Urus and Urus Evo in the snow, and in other harsh conditions, so we know this Super SUV can handle a bit of the rough stuff. But this kitted version looks like it's ready to take on the Dakar Rally. First spotted back in February when the Huracan Sterrato prototype was being tested in Sweden, this black and yellow Urus has evaded professional car spotters for ages, but now we can finally get a good look at it.

Obvious modifications include a full steel front bumper that features a power winch and mesh inserts ahead of the front intake vents. The rear end also features a steel bumper with a mounting rack for a spare wheel and an A frame tow hitch which could potentially be used to tow crashed Huracans out of snow banks. The roof rack is also a serious bit of kit, and features forward and rear-facing spotlights.

As for chassis modifications, it is difficult to say whether Lamborghini has done any supporting modifications under the skin, such as bash plates or suspension upgrades. From what we can tell, the ride height seems to be at the stock level, and the tires don't look like anything you'd find on a Ford Ranger Raptor. The Lamborghini Urus does however come with all-wheel drive, a Torsen self-locking center differential, and a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 641 hp and 627 lb-ft. That should be enough to get any Lambo test mule unstuck in seconds.
